Ryan Wood will start today’s Dunlop Series race in Perth from third on the grid, while Matthew McCutcheon charged to second of the Super3 field to start from grid slot 15.
McCutcheon got to work late in Super3’s 10-minute session, provisionally holding pole with a 56.0015 with just a few minutes left to run. It took a superb lap from Jobe Stewart to better this, the youngster going three one-hundredths faster before bettering his time by a further one-hundredth on his final flier.
McCutcheon’s time was still good enough for second in class and puts him 15th on the grid overall. Super3 polesitter Stewart will start one row ahead, in 13th.
As was the case yesterday, Super2 times continued to tumble throughout their 10-minute run, with Ryan Wood often near the top before dropping down the top 10. A late run moved him up to third, a 55.4636 only .1256 seconds off Brad Vaughan’s pole-setting time.
It’s only a drop of one place from the Kiwi’s qualifying result yesterday, which saw him storm to a superb victory in the sole race.
Yesterday’s Super2 polesitter Zak Best could only manage 10th fastest, while yesterday’s Super3 polesitter Cameron McLeod could only manage fourth to start from grid slot 20.
Today’s sole 40-minute Dunlop Series race begins at 6.05 pm.
