Will Davison has joined an ever-growing list of renowned talent set to compete in next month’s Bathurst 6 Hour.
The Supercars veteran will partner Beric Lynton and Tim Leahey to share a BMW M3 Competition for the Mount Panorama Production Car enduro.
Davison also partnered with the duo last year but a mechanical issue forced them out of contention early on.
Lynton and Leahey have experienced success at the event in past, however, when they won the event in 2019.
For Davison the return is a shot at redemption following last year’s issues.
“I really enjoyed being part of the Bathurst 6 Hour with Beric, Tim and the team last year,” he said. “Unfortunately we had a mechanical issue very early on which put us out of contention.
“I have been very keen to come back and have another shot, I enjoyed the vibe of the event, it’s a fun and different nature of racing, a huge field and massive car speed variances.
“It creates different challenges and has an old school endurance race type feel. All the cars have different strengths and weaknesses and I enjoyed having to adapt to a Production Car and its requirements.
“Importantly we all got on well and had fun, and the chance to race with one of my best friends in Tim is really special, we will be giving it our all for victory this year.”
The two-time Bathurst 1000 winner will face off against teammate Anton de Pasquale who is running in a Class X BMW M4.
There’s also a strong New Zealand flavor in the field with the all-Kiwi Pro8 South Island Series entry of Kris Mackie, Ash McConchie and Jarrod Parmenter.
The 2023 Bathurst 6 Hour takes place over Easter weekend from April 7-9.
Before then, however, Davison and de Pasquale will be in action next weekend when Supercars supports the Melbourne Grand Prix at Albert Park.
