Sydney Motorsport Park and not Winton will stage the next round of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship with the confirmation of a day/night format to take place on July 18-19.
The venue switch also comes with the welcome news that fans will be able to attend the two-day event, the first since the curtailed Australian Grand Prix weekend back in March.
The opening race will take place under lights on Saturday before two races on Sunday during the day.
The championship successfully relaunched last weekend at Sydney Motorsport Park with the indecently fast tyre degradation of the circuit setting the scene for some thrilling racing.
Sydney Motorsport Park hosted its first night race back in 2018, with the round proving to be a successful hit with teams and fans alike.
The circuit was already due to host the season-finale under lights in December with the revised round now meaning the popular Eastern Creek venue will hold three rounds in one season.
Ultimately, the venue change confirms rumours that newly enforced Queensland State Government legislation restricting the movement into and out of Victoria has led to Winton Raceway being shelved from the calendar.
Supercars have not confirmed what the result means for Winton and whether a new round will be rescheduled at the Victorian venue.
