Supercars is set to return to New Zealand at the inaugural ITM Taupō Super400 next year, an event which will also be host to a jam-packed line-up of support categories.
Earlier this week, it was announced that the Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia Championship will make its first appearance on home soil for the event, with another three series being confirmed today.
Without further ado, those in attendance will be treated to the spectacle of the NAPA Central Muscle Cars, Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, and the Formula Ford series in addition to the main Supercars races.
It’ll certainly be an event to remember, especially when you consider that it will be the first time Supercars competes at Taupō International Motorsport Park. It last raced here at Pukekohe Park Raceway in 2022, but postponed its return after the circuit was closed to all motorsport activity.
Taupō will also be the 35th different venue to host a Supercars/ATCC event and the third track in New Zealand to do so.
“As we gear up for our debut at Taupō in April, we’re thrilled to offer fans some of the most exciting categories on track over all three days of the event,” says Shane Howard, chief executive of Supercars.
“With Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, Central Muscle Cars, the Toyota Gazoo Racing 86 Series, and Formula Ford on the undercard, fans of all kinds will have something to get behind, with a number of local drivers gearing up for a crack at line honours on home turf.”
Tickets for the ITM Taupō Super400 – held from April 19 to 21, 2024 – can now be purchased on the Supercars website or at Ticketek NZ.
