Super GT has issued a revised season calendar that sees its two international events pushed back into winter with the series now due to kick off in July.
The original season-opener which was slated to be held in April from the Okayama circuit was postponed earlier this year amid the worsening covid-19 pandemic.
The two international events planned to be held in July from Buriram in Thailand and Sepang in Malaysia were then set to commence the 2020 season.
However, the newly revised calendar now has Okayama set to host the first round of the season on July 11-12, followed by races in Fuji and Sugo.
Rounds in Thailand, Malaysia and the Suzuka circuit in Japan are yet to be rescheduled. But the trio will conclude the season which is now likely to roll-over into the winter months of December and January.
“The re-scheduling of the rounds at Suzuka and in Thailand and Malaysia are now under consideration but plans still call for the holding of all eight rounds of this season,” read a statement issued by series organisers GTA.
A pre-season test from Fuji in June currently is set to go ahead as planned.
