Gold Coast based Kiwi driver, Madeline Stewart, heads back to the USA this week for the second round of the Porsche Sprint Challenge North America series at Barber Motorsport Park in Birmingham, Alabama.
She is hoping to continue her run of good form after securing outright Pole Position and two third places at the first round at Sebring International Raceway last month.
Madeline had a successful test at Barber in February and goes into this weekend with a renewed sense of confidence.
“I felt may test at Barber was stronger than at Sebring. They are very different styles of race tracks and both very different to what I’m used to in Australia. I’ll be working hard to secure pole again and avoid the kind of mistakes I made at Sebring that kept me off the top step of the podium,” she says.
The Porsche Sprint Challenge North America will be supporting Indycar at Barber Motorsports Park. They have two practices on Friday 28 April followed by Qualifying on Saturday morning, a 40 minute race Saturday afternoon and a second 40 minute race on Sunday morning.
“I’m really looking forward to racing at Barber and also watching the Indy Car and Indy NXT series races live for the first time. Obviously there are quite a few Kiwis and Aussies racing in those series too which is cool.“
Madeline heads into Round two third in the championship points.
