Richie Stanaway will return to the GT World Challenge Australia with Triple Eight Race Engineering this weekend, partnering with Prince Jefri Ibrahim in the #888 Mercedes AMG GT3.
Racing in support of Supercars’ Sydney SuperNight, the 22-strong GT3 and GT4 field will compete in two 60-minute over the weekend, one each on Saturday and Sunday, following Friday’s qualifying session.
Jamie Whincup will partner Prince Abu Bakar Ibrahim in the sister Triple Eight #88 Mercedes AMG GT3.
Stanaway and Ibrahim have already raced together this season, finishing fourth and third in Perth. They also teamed up for Rounds 3 and 4 of the GT World Challenge Asia at Fuji, where they finished 11th in Race 1 and 7th in Race 2.
The duo are competing in the Pro-Am class, where Ibrahim is seventh in the standings and Stanaway 14th.
Fellow New Zealanders Andrew Fawcett and Tim Miles will also compete, Fawcett partnering with Dylan O’Keeffe in an Audi R8 LMS Evo 2, while Miles runs a sole entry in the Am class in a Mercedes AMG GT3.
Qualifying takes place on Friday at 4.05 pm (NZ time) and is followed by Race 1 at 4.55 pm on Saturday and Race 2 at 12.45 pm on Sunday. All action will be shown live on Sky Sport.
