The final Supercars Top 10 Shootout session for the year has seen the Shell V-Power Racing Team lockout the front row with Anton De Pasquale securing pole for the final race this year, while teammate Will Davison starts second.
“It felt good,” De Pasquale said.
“The reference lap of the dash was pretty similar, I was having deja vu into the last corner. It hooked up awesome, the guys have done an amazing job.”
“To get to last pole of the year is awesome, obviously want to convert that to a trophy this afternoon.”
Things were looking good for Cam Waters in this morning’s qualifying session after securing the fastest time, but it wasn’t meant to be in the Shootout with the Tickford Racing driver winding up in sixth.
The Shootout was delayed after officials deliberated over whether Shane Van Gisbergen should start following a pit late speeding infringement during qualifying.
However, SVG will start Race 34 in fourth position after being pipped for third by teammate Broc Feeney by half a tenth.
Fellow Kiwi Andre Heimgartner will start eighth after setting his fastest time of 1:19.922, while Todd Hazelwood and David Reynolds round out the top ten positions.
Jack Le Brocq just missed out on the top ten which will see him start 11th for this afternoon’s race.
Further down the order in 24th sits New Zealander Chris Pither who will make his last race start in Supercars as he leaves PremiAir Racing after Adelaide.
Race 34 will get underway at 5:15pm this afternoon at the VALO Adelaide 500, capping off the 2022 Supercars season.
