Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling has wrapped up the Formula 1 Academy Series title at Lusail International Circuit in Qatar, with three races remaining in the season.
Pulling finished as runner-up in the opening race in Qatar, behind title rival Doriane Pin, which gave her the 18 points required wrap up the championship.
As her prize, Pulling receives a fully funded drive with Rodin Motorsport in the 2025 GB3 Championship.
“It’s been a tougher season than I think most think,” she said. “Going into the year, I had no choice but to win.
“I’ve struggled financially in the past and to get the prize for next year – I know it’s so early to be talking about next year, but that makes me so happy, so incredibly proud.
“It wasn’t an easy race. I’m glad that I stuck it out at the start and pushed on.”
Ahead of Qatar, Pulling had won seven of the season’s ten races, and had finished in the top two of every outing, with the exception of Race 2 in the Netherlands, where she was third.
She had started on pole seven times, before qualifying third in Qatar.
In this morning’s race, her move on Maya Waug to take second was her first on-track pass of the season, given her dominance over one-lap.
The Formula 1 Academy returns for Race 2 in Qatar at 11.55 pm NZST tonight, before next weekend’s season-finale in Abu Dhabi.
