Paul Radisich, the only Rat you would ever want to have around at dinner, is set to race in this weekend’s New Zealand Endurance championship finale.
Radisich will join Sam Collins in the Marc II V8 Mustang, which is undergoing some extensive upgrades behind the scenes.
The pair are racing in the one-hour championship race, held on the 4 km Hampton Downs International circuit.
Radisich has been a big member in the development of the car, as well as the team’s monstrous V8 Mustang they raced before the Marc.
The last update on the uprated engine is it won’t be ready in time for the race due to a parts hold up. Instead, the team will be running their second motor.
Over 30 cars are entered in the one-hour race. These include a mix of homebuilt machines, V8s, RX-8s, GT3s and Porsches.
The grid is divided into classes, and each class winner earns a title.
The Marc is in Class 1, which is for cars with motors larger than 3500cc.
Racing is on the traditional endurance Saturday. TV coverage is live on Sky Sport.
