Radical New Zealand is taking their newly arrived SR10 track car around some of the country’s race circuits, with some big motorsport names on hand to celebrate the car’s launch.
The SR10 boasts a track-specific chassis and aerodynamic kit, with everything together tipping the scales at 725kgs.
The 2.3-litre Ford engine delivers 316kW of power, and it has a 0-100 km/hr time of 2.4s.
Essentially, the SR10 is a wickedly faster version of the entry-level SR3 XX (which we reviewed here) and a more durable package of the SR8 model, which has similar power output.
Manfeild is the first Kiwi circuit to get a look at the SR10 on December 6.
Four-time Bathurst 1000 winner Greg Murphy and ex-World Superbike race winner Aaron Slight will be at the launch event.
Radical then take the car on a southern tour, visiting Christchurch, Timaru and Cromwell between December 9 – 12.
Tom Alexander joins Slight at these events and may even do some demonstration laps.
Taupo concludes the tour on December 16.
Hampton Downs, home to Radical New Zealand, has its own event at a yet-to-be-confirmed date in 2022.
“There has been strong interest from many parts of New Zealand,” Radical’s Greg Brinck says.
“We are celebrating Radical’s first year of operation in New Zealand – and what better way to do so than with a road tour to show people the new SR10?”
When Radical announced its expansion to the New Zealand market, a ‘Radical race series’ was tipped as a possible future motorsport project for the brand.
