Track owner, Team owner and Race car driver Tony Quinn is set to join the NAPA Central Muscle Cars for the upcoming Nextgen Dayle ITM Hampton Downs Grand Finale held over the March 22-23rd weekend.
Quinn will be driving the ex-Hugh Gardiner 1978 Pontiac Firebird TransAm, which was purchased by Quinn last season.

When asked how he felt about the upcoming event, Quinn had this to say.
“It was one moonlight night in 2023 that I had a brain fart & thought I would buy a Central Muscle Car in NZ, which I did!
“Honestly, I haven’t driven it since I bought it, and I never even sat in it! So now I’m about to sit in it at Hampton Downs with many other maniac drivers! My main mission is to steer clear of Angus Fogg….when he is lapping me! Am I excited?! Not sure I would say so much excited….more apprehensive!”
Quinn is no stranger to being behind the wheel, having won five Targa NZ events and competing in multiple international racing series over the years, including the Porsche Carerra Cup Series, Monochrome GT4 Australian Pro Am Cup Series, Summerset GT New Zealand Championship, Aussie Racing Cars Super Series, Bathurst 6-hour, 12-hour and 24-hour races, Fanatec GT Word Challenge, Australian GT Championship, 24 Hours of Nürburgring, and more.

Quinn has achieved over 100 podiums and 38 wins during his 25-year professional racing career.
He will join the 17-strong field and drive the car competitively for the first time since taking ownership. Tony is also scheduled to drive the car at the season’s Final Round at the Taupo ITM Super 440 as part of the support program for the Supercars, held over the April 11-13th weekend.

Tickets are available through the following website: https://nextgennz.flicket.co.nz. You can also tune in to Stuff Speedhub to watch the live stream on both days.
