We’re less than a month away from the 2023 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour with the support race categories now being locked in for what will make up a jam packed weekend of racing.
Two categories alongside a host of other on track activities will provide plenty of entertainment for spectators alongside an on track demonstration from the Oracle Red Bull Racing Formula 1 team.
First up is the Combined Sedans grid which will bring a host of high-powered touring cars to the Mount Panorama circuit like Spaceframe and Chassis Sports Sedans, V8 Touring Cars, Improved Production Cars and more.
The sedan field will be made up of 55 contenders in machinery like Steven Lacey’s Chevrolet Camaro, a pair of Nissan Skyline GTRs (R32), and even a Fiat 124.
Making up the second support category will be a full field of 1600cc Kent-powered Formula Fords which make their return to the Mountain for the first time since 2019.
Over 50 cars have been entered across the Formula Ford 1600 and historic classes according to organisers.
Among the drivers is Englishman Richard Tarling, a multiple winner of major Formula Ford events including the Walter Hayes trophy, the Formula Ford Festival and classic races at Brands Hatch and Silverstone, among others.
Other notable names competing include John Blanchard in a 1992 Swift, Porsche Carrera Cup ace Nick McBride, noted racer and racing car designer Malcolm Oastler, newly-signed Tickford Super2 driver Elly Morrow and Andrew McInnes in his ex-Russell Ingall Van Diemen RF89.
Each support race will take place on the Friday and Saturday before the main 12 Hour race gets underway.
The 2023 Liqui Moly Bathurst 12 Hour will run from February 3 to 5, 2023.
