Greg Murphy has finished his last race at Pukekohe on the podium, with Race 3 of the Archibalds Historic Touring Cars following a similar pattern to the first in a two-car battle for the lead. It was Michael Lyons who claimed the chequered flag first this time, as he did in yesterdays Race 1, with Murphy settling for second after yesterdays Race 2 win.
The straight line speed of the Sierra has put Murphy in contention all weekend, and it showed again from the start with the Kiwi pipping the 1998 Nissan Primera into Turn 1.
The race-pace of Lyons eventually saw him pick off Murphy, a Lap 3 overtake on the inside at the hairpin allowing Lyons to pull away to take the win.
Murphy held on for second ahead of Stu Rogers, his third podium of the weekend in a Nissan Skyline putting him as a top contender heading into the season.
Race 3 concludes the weekend for the Historics, with Lyons taking the round over Murphy and Rogers.
