Greg Murphy will be contending in this year’s Bathurst 1000 event as a wildcard entry alongside fellow Kiwi Richie Stanaway, with Murphy saying he’s in a “good space” ahead of the event.
Both drivers completed their third and final tests with Erebus Motorsport at Winton Motor Raceway on Wednesday.
The pair nearly had to forgo their Bathurst drive following Will Brown’s 56g impact with the wall at Pukekohe Raceway, almost having to use the wildcard car’s chassis.
With the go ahead confirmed, Murphy feels good about his return to the track after eight years.
“I’m really looking forward to it,” Murphy said speaking with Supercars.
“This last test day felt awesome, I really enjoyed driving the car.
“The car feels great, driver changes are good, Richie’s fast. It’s been going really smoothly.
“It puts you in a good space mentally heading up there.”
Murphy and Stanaway are now all set for the Bathurst 1000 which will begin on October 6.
