MotorSport New Zealand has announced that it has terminated its NZ Championship Series promoter’s contract with Brendon Whites company NZ XMS Ltd, which ran the Premier Race Championship Series, known as the “Super Sprint Championship,” for the past two seasons.
The decision to end NZ XMS Ltd’s contract was made by the MotorSport New Zealand board to ensure that the future of the Premier Race Championship Series was secure for the 2024-25 season and beyond.
MotorSport New Zealand President Deborah Day assures competitors and fans alike that there will be a Premier Race Championship Series for the 2024-25 season.
“The Super Sprint Championship has, without doubt, delivered some great events for competitors and generated fresh interest in domestic motorsport amongst fans, both new and old, at race circuits right across New Zealand,” says Day.
“The MotorSport New Zealand team is working hard on plans for a proposed calendar and securing a new promoter.
“There’s a lot going on behind the scenes, and I am confident there will be a Premier Race Championship Series this summer for competitors, crews, categories, circuits, volunteer officials and fans to enjoy.”
As soon as these details are finalised, MotorSport New Zealand will call for expressions of interest for a new promoter of the Premier Race Championship Series.

I just hope that MNZ does not try to recoup any losses by increasing fees and levies imposed on clubs and individuals.
Whilst fees and Levies will inevitably rise next season, it won’t be because of MSNZ’s exposure to any unpaid fees and/or levies from the outgoing promoter, as they are not significant, as illustrated by the published accounts presented to the members of MSNZ at their recent AGM.
