Kiwi Mitch Evans has crossed the line on a 6th season deal with his current team Jaguar racing.
Evans has spent the last 5 years with Jaguar and in that time has won 2 races and has collected 10 podiums.
His wealth of experience in the series is crucial for Jaguar moving forward, as well as his proven ability on track with his exciting driving style.
Evans is currently 8th in the championship 20 points behind current leader Nyck de Vries and only 1 point behind fellow New Zealander Nick Cassidy.
Mitch Evans was quoted post signing that he has clear objectives moving forward with the team. He received offers from other teams in the series but agreed to sign with Jaguar for a 6th season saying:
“We are seeing strong results on track, the Jaguar I-TYPE 5 boasts excellent performance and we are ready to rival anyone on the grid. There is still everything to play for this season and going forward into the future with Jaguar Racing”.
Team principal James Barclay had high praise for the 27-year-old: “We are very pleased to confirm that Mitch will remain a key part of Jaguar Racing’s driver line-up, extending his long-standing and integral role in the team. Mitch’s speed and on-track results in Formula E speak for themselves … Mitch is one of the most exciting talents in Formula E and his experience and understanding of how we work is invaluable”.
The season finale of this year’s Formula-E championship is coming up on the 14th-15th in Berlin. The constructors championship is tight at the top with Jaguar Racing currently placed 3rd, 2 points behind Mercedes E-racing in 2nd, and 9 points behind Envision Virgin Racing who hold the top spot.
