A big night of action is on the cards at Waikaraka Park in Auckland, with five classes of cars and a fireworks display welcoming in the New Year.
The event is headlined by Round 4 of the Midget World Series, the MRL Fast 40, featuring American stars Michael ‘Buddy’ Kofoid, two-time Chili Bowl winner Logan Seavey, and Ethan Mitchell. Former Australian champion Kaidon Brown is included in the field, as is up-and-comer Zoe Pearce.
The New Zealand attack is spearheaded by national champion Brad Mosen, 2NZ Brock Maskovich, 3NZ Mitch Fabish, and ten-time national champion Michael Pickens.
Pickens began the series with a win at Western Springs, before Kofoid clinched both features at Baypark.
Sprintcars will once again feature alongside the Midget World Series, with Shane van Gisbergen making his first and final appearance at Waikaraka Park this summer.
Streetstocks will take to the track for the Bill Peat Streetstock 290’s and Geoffrey Evans Memorial, with 19 cars, including four from Rotorua and one from Stratford, in action.
The Six Shooter Predator Series features 13 entries at the event that also includes a 16-strong stockcar lineup.
The action begins at 6.30 pm, with a live stream available via a paid subscription on Video Hub.
The Midget World Series wraps up at Western Springs tomorrow night, before the New Zealand Midget title at the same venue on January 4.
Van Gisbergen will race in the Sprintcar at both events, the January 4th outing being his final confirmed run of the 2024/25 speedway season.
