Two-time Supercars champion Scott McLaughlin will get his first taste of IndyCar this weekend with the opening round of the IndyCar iRacing Challenge.
McLaughlin will sport an impressive Shell V-Power livery which will also feature the newly mandated aeroscreen.
McLaughlin joins Team Penske teammates Will Power, Simon Pagenaud and defending champion Josef Newgarden.
The virtual race will also witness the return of Robert Wickens to the global racing scene.
The 30-year-old Canadian was paralysed from the waist down in a terrible accident from 2018 Pocono 500.
Wickens has amazed the motorsport community with his astonishing progress that has seen him walk short distances, lift weights and even complete push-ups.
Wickens will be using a sim specially redesigned to covert the foot controls to hand controls.
The inaugural event will be the American Red Cross Grand Prix at Watkins Glen and will be broadcasted live on indycar.com and McLaughlin’s twitch account tomorrow from 8 am NZT.
