IndyCar driver Scott McLaughlin recently teased fans on social media with a possible drive in the 24 Hours of Daytona.
The Kiwi posted a track map of the Daytona International Speedway road course with the caption: “New track map dropped on my desk today #Daytona24”.
In the days prior, he spoke with media admitting that he was planning on entering the race as well as the 24 Hours of Le Mans. However, he said it wouldn’t be under with Team Penske who he currently races for in IndyCar.
In September, Porsche Penske Motorsport revealed the new Type 963 it would be contesting in the GTP class of the 24 Hours of Daytona.
Considering McLaughlin won’t be behind the wheel for the Penske team, its possible he will race in the GT class but nothing is certain at this time.
The Daytona event won’t interfere with his 2023 schedule either since its held in the final weekend of January while the IndyCar season starts later on in March.
For now, we await confirmation on McLaughlin’s entry into the 24 hour race.
