Matthew Payne’s warpaint for his rookie Porsche Carrera Cup Australia Series has been unveiled, with SP Tools coming on as the primary sponsor.
Payne will be racing with Earl Bamber Motorsport for the full 2021 championship, coming off his imperious display to win this year’s Castrol Toyota Racing Series title.
The fresh livery still features the Silver Fern on each flank as well as the all-black colour scheme.
This year marks EBM’s maiden foray into the championship as part of the team’s latest expansion plans.
“It’s a real honour for Matthew to partner with such a prestigious brand for Team Porsche New Zealand’s first season in Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia,” team owner Earl Bamber said.
“After our unforeseen break in 2020, the PCA team has done an amazing job with the 2021 calendar and we are looking forward to getting back to the track.”
Alongside supporting Payne, SP Tools will also sponsor the Mechanic of the Year award to celebrate the men and women behind the scenes of each car.
“Carrera Cup Australia mechanics are the unsung heroes of our series and often don’t get the recognition they deserve, working tirelessly throughout the season, ensuring that all the cars stay on track and perform at their optimum,” said Porsche Cars Australia head of motorsport Troy Bundy.
“While their work is vital in the success of every driver’s performance, their efforts are often unnoticed behind the scenes.
“So we are delighted to announce our partnership with SP Tools for the Mechanic of the Year Award, as it will provide recognition to the great work these mechanics do to ensure both the drivers, and the series, remain a success.”
This weekend’s Sandown Supercars SuperSprint will host round one of the eight-round championship.
