Matthew Payne has followed up a strong performance yesterday, with another pole position for the final Super 2 race of the weekend.
Payne took pole for yesterday’s race, converting it into his first win in the series, while also taking the lead in the championship points standings.
Zak Best who had been leading the points coming into the weekend suffered a DNF after contact with Stephen Page in the race.
Tyler Everingham will start alongside Payne on the front row of the grid.
“It’s going really well at the moment,” Payne said.
“That qualy session, we went out on used tyres on the start and needed to find some time.
“We put greens on and it was pretty close, we managed to pull out a good lap, so I’m happy.”
Everingham and Cameron Hill had topped the timesheets early in the session with laps with low 55 second laps.
Though it was Payne that set the first 54-second lap to top the session and claim pole position.
