Matthew Payne has taken his first race win in the Super 2 series in Perth.
Payne led the race right from the start taking the lead on lap one, building a lead over the rest of the field.
The safety car came out on lap 15 after an incident between Zak Best and Steven Page, the pair locking wheels.
The damage saw Best was stopped off the side of the track, while Page who also sustained damage, made it back into the lane, before rejoining the race soon after.
Best came into the weekend leading the championship with Payne sitting second.
Payne had a 1.3 second lead over Cameron Hill when the safety car was deployed. The race got back underway on lap 20, with Payne holding onto the race lead until the end of the race.
Nash Morris was caught up in incidents on the second last lap making contact with Aaron Seaton before being spun by Brad Vaughan, ending his race in a gravel trap.
With Best not finishing the race Payne now takes the lead of the championship.
The Super 2 field will be back on track for qualifying at 12.40 pm tomorrow, before the race at 6.25 pm
