Louis Sharp took second place in the opening race of the ROKiT F4 British Championship weekend at Oulton Park.
Aiden Neate and Louis Sharp moved into second and third early in the race with the Kiwi driver making a move to take second place soon after.
Neate kept the pressure on Sharp for the remainder of the 20-minute race but, Sharp held on to second, crossing the line less than half a second ahead of Neate, who would cross the line third.
The race was won by championship leader Alex Dunne, who crossed the line with a seven-second lead.
The podium result continues a strong run for Sharp through the start of the season, having stood on the podium in the previous two rounds.
“We showed our pace at the start, I was able to get a really good start, and on the first lap I made up two positions, so I couldn’t really ask for much more than that for a first lap,” Sharp said after the race.
“After that, I really just settled into the race and tried to put in consistent laps. I could tell Aiden behind me was a bit quicker, and especially towards the end we lost a bit of pace. I was able to just hold on for second.”
The field will be back on track for two more races this weekend, before heading to the next round at Croft Circuit June 24-26.
