It’s a busy weekend ahead, with many Kiwi’s in action around the world competing in various categories. We have all the information you need, including how to watch and New Zealand times.
Formula 2 – Budapest
Marcus Armstrong and Liam Lawson will be competing in this weekends round in Budapest, with the standard format of a sprint race followed by the feature.
Lawson had an impressive time out last weekend in France, winning the sprint and finishing a respectable sixth in the feature.
Armstrong was unlucky in the sprint after looking set for third place before being forced off track twice and incurring a penalty for a separate incident, which saw him relegated to 14th. The feature race also saw Armstrong’s misfortunes continue after an incident withdrew him from the race.
Lawson currently sits in fifth in the championship, 94 points behind runaway leader Felipe Drugovich. Armstrong sits a further 10 points back in 10th. A strong weekend from both drivers will see them close the gap to the top four runners, who have separated themselves from the rest of the field and built a gap to the top end of the standings.

Formula 4 – Knockhill
The summer break is over and it’s time for young New Zealand driver Louis Sharp to take to the circuit in the FIA Formula 4 British Championship at Knockhill in the UK this weekend.
It was a good weekend of racing at the previous round for Sharp, picking up two top five positions. One of those finishes was on the podium in second place in race three.
Sharp currently sits fifth in the championship with 130 points, just seven points behind Aiden Neate.

IndyCar: Gallaher Grand Prix – Indianapolis
Scott Dixon and Scott McLaughlin will be the two Kiwi’s on track this weekend in IndyCar, with this weeks event taking place in Indianapolis over a road course. The 2.44 mile long course covers 14 turns, including turns one and two of the famous Indianapolis Motor Speedway oval before branching off through the in-field over 85 laps.
McLaughlin has claimed race honours twice this season, in St Petersburg and Mid-Ohio compared to Dixon’s one win in Toronto. In the most recent event, the two battled throughout the race before McLaughlin pipped Dixon for third in Iowa.
Dixon is the best placed of the duo, sitting in fourth place in the championship and only 34 points behind leader Marcus Ericsson. McLaughlin is currently seventh, 86 points off top spot.

Supercars: OTR Supersprint – The Bend
Supercars are this weekend racing in South Australia at the famous The Bend Motorsport Park. Three races will be held over the weekend, with Saturday’s Race 21 of the season preceded by three-part qualifying. Sunday will see two sessions of timed qualifying followed by Races 22 and 23.
Shane van Gisbergen will be aiming to extend his grip at the top of the table after winning both races in Townsville, which extended his lead to 274 points over second placed Anton de Pasquale. Andre Heimgartner is the second-best placed Kiwi in the field, sitting eighth in the standings. Chris Pither rounds out our New Zealand trio in action, currently positioned 23rd.

Porsche Paynter Dixon Carrera Cup Australia – The Bend
In support of the Supercars will be the Porsche Carrera Cup field, who will compete over three races on Saturday and Sunday.
Callum Hedge is the lead New Zealand driver in the series, currently sitting in seventh in the championship. Townsville was a successful weekend for the teenager, who claimed three podiums including his maiden win in the format.
Fellow Kiwi drivers Ryan Suhle and Tim Miles will also be in action in the series.

Formula E: SABIC London E-Prix
Formula E will take to the streets of London this weekend, with the track covering parts of the cities docklands along the River Thames, and through the ExCeL Exhibition Centre with a part in-door E-Prix a first for the series. The 22 corners provide plenty of overtaking opportunities for drivers, with two races over the weekend.
Mitch Evans and Nick Cassidy are the two Kiwi’s in action here, with Evans sitting in a respectable third place for Jaguar TCS Racing. He trails championship leader Stoffel Vandoorne by only 16 points in the race for the title, and a strong weekend here will see him potentially challenging for top spot.
Nick Cassidy is also having a strong season, highlighted by a race win in New York during the last Formula E race weekend. His championship position of 11th is perhaps unjust, with inconsistent results hampering his challenge on the top 10 drivers. Cassidy, however, remains a strong contender over the race weekend.

Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe: 24 Hours of Spa
Four New Zealand drivers will be in action in Belgium this weekend with the 24 Hours of Spa. Jaxon Evans, Earl Bamber and Matthew Payne will fly the flag in the Pro-Am Cup at the event, with Brendon Leitch running in the Silver Cup.
Earl Bamber Motorsport is providing two entries in the event, racing Porsche 911 GT3 R in the endurance race. The first of these two cars partners with Singha Racing Team TP 12, which sees Bamber competing alongside Piti Todd Bhirombhakdi, Tanart Sathienthirakul, and Christophe Hamon.
The other entry is under the EBM team, and sees Matthew Payne partnering with father-son duo of Stephen and Brenton Grove, who also own Grove Racing of whom Payne competes for in Super2. The final driver in the EBM car is Adrian D’Silva.
Brendon Leitch will take up driving duties in the #27 Leipert Motorsport Lamborghini Huracan GT3 Evo with Max Weering, Isaac Tutumlu Lopez and Tyler Cooke.
Jaxon Evans rounds out the Kiwi’s in contention and will also race in a Porsche 911 GT3 R, for Herberth Motorsport.
