Supercars has announced a two-part documentary series, ‘Road to Taupo, powered by Repco, ‘ that will launch online this weekend. The series will follow all five Kiwi drivers.
The documentary follows the journeys of rookies Ryan Wood and Jaxon Evans, Adelaide 500 race winner Matt Payne, Bathurst 1000 winner Richie Stanaway and Brad Jones Racing’s Andre Heimgartner as they prepare for next weekend’s ITM Taupo Super400.
Episode 1 will be released at 8 pm this evening (NZ time) on the Supercars website and YouTube channel before Episode 2 on Sunday at the same time.

Produced by Supercars and AirTime Media, the series of two 20-minute episodes offers viewers an exclusive glimpse into the behind-the-scenes action of New Zealand’s Supercars’ talent, who have been eyeing off the Taupō round since it was first announced in 2023.
The first episode covers Wood’s maiden Supercars test at Winton, alongside insights into the dynamic longtime friendship between youngsters Payne and Wood. It also features drivers’ dramas at the season-opening Thrifty Bathurst 500 and never-before-seen footage of what Chaz Mostert said to Payne after their crash at the Melbourne SuperSprint last month.
General Admission and Grand Stand tickets remain available for Friday’s action, but Saturday and Sunday’s allocations have sold out.
