Jaxon Evans has partnered with Lechner Racing in his second Porsche Mobil 1 Supercup campaign.
The kiwi had a successful debut season last year with Fach Auto Tech where he concluded the season sixth in the standings with two podiums finishes from Spa and Mexico.
2020 will see Evans join the Porsche Junior program alongside 21-year-old Turkish driver Ayhancan Güven.
“2020 will be an exciting year for me,”
said Evans.
“I’m happy to compete for one of the best teams in Supercup history and fight for the championship with them.
“I hope our time together will be successful.”
Evans follows the likes of fellow kiwi Earl Bamber to have also gone through the Porsche Junior program.
Part of Evans’ program as a Porsche Junior will see him receive funding to the value of 225,000 Euros as well as also receiving mentoring from former Porsche works driver Sascha Maassen.
Maassen has twice won the illustrious 24 Hours of Le Mans for Porsche in the GT class and is as seasoned GT racing specialist.
The first round of the Porsche Supercup will be held from Circuit Zandvoort as a support class for the Dutch Grand Prix.
