A soaked Spa caused a stir across all the series racing there over the past 2 days. The Porsche Supercup is a supporting act for the Formula 1 Belgian GP in addition to the Formula 3 championship as well as Formula W.
Jaxon Evans did well to qualify fourth in the tricky conditions. He will start from the second row at the race on Sunday but unfortunately was out qualified by the other championship protagonist, and current leader, Larry ten Voorde.
The weather conditions will most likely be similar for tomorrows race which could cause havoc as can already be observed from the numerous spins and offs in the other series racing on track.
Evans will be gunning for a great result at Spa after his fantastic first ever Le Mans 24 hour performance where his team finished 5th and were the highest classified Porsche in their class.
He is currently sitting second in the Super Cup championship 17 points below the Dutch driver ten Voorde.
The Kiwi is in a great position to fight for the championship with the current achievable gap from 1st to 2nd. As a bonus, he has a 29 point gap to 3rd placed Leon Kohler.
Let us see how Evans deals with the unpredictable conditions and whether or not they will play into his favour. Hopefully he can pull out a blinder and take over first place in the standings!
