2020 and 2021 New Zealand Formula Ford Championship winner James Penrose will be flying to the UK this week to take part in two of the most prestigious Formula Ford events in the world.
The Kiwi driver will take part in both the British Racing & Sports Car Club (BRSCC) Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch this weekend.
He will be behind the wheel of Border Reivers Racing’s entry for what will be the 51st running of the Formula Ford Festival.
Prior event participants include the likes of Formula 1 legends Michael Schumacher, Kimi Raikkonen, Jenson Button, Nigel Mansell and Mark Webber among others.
Racing will take place on the 1.94km Brands Hatch Indy Circuit with practice commencing in the later half of this week in preparation for Saturday’s four qualifying heats.
Racing gets underway on Sunday with driver’s battling it out to make it into the semi-finals and ultimately the final race.
Penrose will also compete in the Walter Hayes Trophy at Silverstone over the weekend of November 5 to 6.
Prior to setting off for the overseas events, Penrose scored a class victory in round two of the South Island Endurance Series at Teretonga Park Raceway.
