Supercars regular Andre Heimgartner will join the ARG eSport Cup grid tonight for the eighth round of virtual series from Silverstone.
The Kiwi will sport a Ned Whisky-inspired livery on his virtual Dallara F3, reminiscent of the current livery seen on the 24-year-old’s Kelly Racing Mustang.
Tonight’s pair of races will see a mammoth grid of 44 cars hit the storied venue
“It will be cool and interesting to race against some of these guys in the ARG eSport Cup,” said Heimgartner.
“I’ve seen a lot of the racing over the last few weeks and it looks like a lot of good fun.
“The combination of the F3 car, which I’ve driven once before in real life, and Silverstone, will be a good mix.
“It will be very fast, high action with a bit of aero and drafting, so it should be fun and I can’t wait to get stuck into it and see how we go.”
Heimgartner has had little experienced a Formula 3 machine with a one-off stint in the Australian Championship at Hidden Valley back in 2013 being his sole encounter.
Fellow New Zealand compatriot and Toyota 86 driver Jaden Ransley currently sits second in the point standings, 10 points adrift of series leader Harley Haber.
Tonight’s eighth round gets underway from 10 pm NZT and will be streamed via the TCR Australia Facebook and YouTube channels.
