Callum Hedge climbed to ninth in the 2024 Indy NXT Championship standings with a tenth-placed finish on the Indianapolis Road Course on Sunday.
The result backs up a season-best fourth in Saturday’s opener.
Louis Foster, a competitor in the Castrol Toyota Formula Regional Oceania Championship in 2023, won over fellow ex-CTFROC driver Jacob Abel, whose runner-up result extends his championship advantage to 25 points over Nolan Siegel.
Rookie Caio Collet completed the podium, seven seconds behind the lead pair.
Collet got the better launch off the line to lead Abel into Turn 1 and held an advantage of around one second for the opening ten laps.
Foster passed Abel for second on Lap 11 and was on the leader’s tail by Lap 13, making several attempts for the position over the following laps before making a move stick on Lap 25 at Turn 11.
While the leaders battled, Abel conserved ‘Push to Pass’ before closing onto the back of their duel and passing Collet for second on Lap 26.
Foster’s pace at the front was too strong, and he eased away for a comfortable 2.4-second victory. Collet dropped 9 seconds behind over the closing laps as James Roe, Siegel, and Michael d’Orlando closed in.
Hedge started eighth and remained with the mid-pack to cross the line in tenth.
Abel has finished first or second in this season’s four races, amassing 190 points to Siegel’s 165. Hedge is ninth in the standings, 97 points adrift of the leader but only 15 off the top five.
Indy NXT returns for a single race at the Detroit Grand Prix on the Streets of Detroit on June 2.
