New Zealanders Reid Harker and Richie Stanaway are included in an impressive entry list for Rounds 3 and 4 of the GT World Challenge Asia at Fuji International Speedway this weekend.
A championship record of 40 cars are confirmed for the event, 36 of those coming in the GT3 class, which is comprised of 12 different manufacturers. Aston Martin, Audi, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Honda, Lamborghini, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG, Nissan, and Porsche are all confirmed entries for the round, with two GT4 Toyotas also competing.
The round will be the most diverse GT World Challenge grid since the 2018 24 Hours of Spa.
Stanaway will compete in the series for the first time this season, with Broc Feeney stepping aside from Triple Eight Racing due to Supercars commitments in Darwin. Stanaway joins Prince Abdul Rahman Ibrahim in the #888 Mercedes-AMG GT3 Evo.
Harker returns to action off the back of an impressive Porsche Carrera Cup Asia podium at Korea International Circuit, joining Setiawan Santoso in Earl Bamber Motorsport’s Porsche 911 GT3 R (992). The driver pairing also competed at Chang International Circuit in Rounds 1 and 2, finishing 12th and 11th overall, respectively.
Both Kiwis are competing in the Pro-Am class.
The field will hit the track for two practice sessions on Friday before returning on Saturday for qualifying at 12.57 pm (NZ Time) and Race 1 at 5.25 pm.
One further 1-Hour race takes place at 3.00 pm on Sunday. Both races will be live-streamed on SRO’s GT World YouTube channel.
