Penrite Racing has unveiled a special livery for the Ford Mustangs of Kiwi drivers Matt Payne and Richie Stanaway for next weekend’s ITM Taupo Super400.
The regular black livery has changed to silver, and the car now features ferns, Kiwis, and maps of New Zealand. The team has released the one-off livery to tribute to their fans in New Zealand.
“To have a New Zealand livery is really exciting for the team as we head to what we feel is like our second home,” Grove Racing CEO Brenton Grove said.
“We can’t wait to celebrate the event with our Kiwi fans and show off how proud the team is to be in New Zealand. The cars look great, the drivers are ready. We can’t wait to hit the track over there and soak in the atmosphere.”
Payne adds, “I’m incredibly excited to race on home turf in Taupō with our new livery. It’s very cool, and the silver print and design are simply awesome.
“The support from our New Zealand fans means the world to us, and we are keen to put on an unforgettable show for them.”
Payne currently sits sixth in the Driver’s Championship, one place ahead of teammate and compatriot Richie Stanaway, who is looking forward to the Taupo outing.
“We are ready to race hard on the track and make our Kiwi fans proud,” said Stanaway.
“I am determined to improve on my performance from the previous rounds and aim for those top spots as we return home.”
The team’s naming rights partner, Penrite Oil, is also the official Oil and Lubricants Partner of the 2024 ITM Taupō Super400.
Penrite CEO Toby Dymond said: “Penrite is thrilled to return to New Zealand to support our loyal Kiwi customers and showcase our two local drivers, Matt and Richie.
“Racing at Taupo also presents a fantastic opportunity for us to connect with our New Zealand fans and demonstrate the performance and quality of our products.”
Special New Zealand-themed merchandise, including polo shirts, caps, and stubby coolers, will be available at the track and an official watch hub at the Cornerstone Taproom.
The venue, at 5 Tuwharetoa Street in Taupo, will host a fan night, driver meet-and-greets, and the release of the exclusive Kiwi merchandise.
