Jaxon Evans secures front row start qualifying 2nd for Porsche Super Cup race in on Sunday.
The 24-year-old Kiwi is elated with his front row start for the 4th round of the Porsche super cup in Hungary.
Evans managed to out qualify main championship rival Larry ten Voorde who is currently 12 points ahead after 3 rounds. Larry qualified 4th so Evans may need to drive defensively if the Dutchman tries some early moves off the start.
The race on Sunday will be a warmup event after the formula 3 race and before the start of the formula 1 Hungarian grand prix.
Track conditions should be hot, possibly reaching 30 degrees, for the 30 minute race tomorrow starting at 12:00pm local time.
Luckily for the Super Cup drivers the track won’t be reaching the afternoon temperatures meaning tyre degradation should not be as much of an issue.
Sunday’s race is available to watch on Spark Sport and will start at 10pm nzt. Fingers crossed Evans drives well and possibly grabs hold of the lead in the championship!
