Dunlop Super2 rookie Joshua Fife has been confirmed as the latest wildcard entry to line-up in next week’s sixth round of the BP Supercars All Star Eseries.
After winning the final Super3 round at Sandown last year, the Canberra-based racer was picked up by Brad Jones Racing to be promoted into the series’ second-tier for 2020.
Fife becomes the third confirmed wildcard entry for next week’s event contested at the Circuit of the Americas, with Lando Norris and Garth Tander also set to feature.
Last Wednesday’s races saw Super2 wildcards Jayden Ojeda and Broc Feeney star at Spa-Francorchamps, with the latter becoming the first wildcard to claim a race victory in the night’s reverse-grid race.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the Eseries and getting the opportunity to verse the main game drivers,” Fife told Supercars.com.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun with some great battles, no doubt.
“I’ve had a Simworx Simulator for two years now and use it before each of my races to learn the track and prepare.
“But since we’ve been in iso [isolation] I have been getting on it a bit more to practice and give me something to do.
“My goal is to be middle of the pack so I’ll be stoked if I’m up around there. I’m competing against the best so I’m just grateful to be involved.”
Fife will don the No.140 for all three race at COTA as his usual No.14 is taken by BJR teammate Todd Hazelwood.
Next week’s event gets underway on May 13 from 8pm NZT.
