Fabian Coulthard’s run of one-off TCR appearances has ended after testing positive for Covid-19.
As such, the Kiwi will miss this weekend’s round at Bathurst.
Replacing Coulthard will be Supercars full-timer Tim Slade.
“It’s a shame that Fabs isn’t available,” Slade said.
“Now I’ve got the opportunity, and I’m really looking forward to it.
“I’ve got no real expectations for the weekend. I’ll just do the job that Wallie (David Wall) and his team ask of me, get comfortable in the car as soon as I can and see how it goes.”
Coulthard was only meant to do the TCR season-opener at Symmons Plains in February.
But he was called upon again for round two at Phillip Island, where he collected two race wins.
He is 11th in the standings despite not actually being a full-time competitor.
Apparently, Coulthard isn’t the only Kiwi racer contracting the virus.
Shane van Gisbergen is said to have tested positive, which would explain his late withdrawal from the Bathurst 6 Hour production car race this weekend.
