Fabian Coulthard must be doing something right. He’s locked in another one round deal to race at Bathurst in TCR Australia.
It’ll be Coulthard’s third ‘one-round’ deal, making us wonder why he isn’t just picked up for the whole season.
In any case, ‘Fabs’ is back for another round, having already collected his first race win last weekend at Phillip Island. Two wins, for that matter.
He’s also fourth in the championship, less than a race win behind points leader Tony D’Alberto.
But he’s still unsure where he stands in terms of competitiveness, despite his impressive run at Phillip Island.
“Bathurst is the unknown,” he said. “I’ll have to go away and collate all of the information that I can to try and get the information myself to see what the cars are like there.
“There’s no substitute for driving it. I went on iRacing earlier to drive a TCR car at Phillip Island, and it turns out it’s similar, but not perfectly accurate as I would have liked, so I’ll just get a feel for it.”
Not that Bathurst is unfamiliarity territory for Coulthard. He’s raced there numerous times before in a Supercar and will do so again later this year for the Bathurst 1000.
The Easter event at Mount Panorama is the annual Bathurst 6 Hour enduro race for improved production cars.
TCR is on the support class schedule.
