Karaka-based race driver Sean Fowler passed away earlier this morning, according to confirmation from the Enzed Central Muscle Cars series.
“It is with great sadness that we advise the passing of our amazing friend and fellow racer Sean Fowler this morning 18 August 2020,” said the series, over social media.
“Our love and thoughts go to his family. RIP Sean. Your antics and constant banter will be sorely missed.”
Fowler was a regular in the popular series between 2016 and 2020. He campaigned two vintage Holden Toranas; a four-door L34, and a two-door A9X coupe.
Son of Warren Fowler, Sean took over his father’s earthmoving business — Warren Fowler Earthmovers Limited — as its sole owner.
On top of a handful of victories in the Central Muscle Cars, Fowler was also a notable inclusion in the category’s visit to Mount Panorama in 2016.
There, the series joined Australia’s Touring Car Masters series, with the likes of Dean Perkins and John Midgley also making the journey across the Tasman.
