The Supercars Championship has announced Mt Smart Stadium in Auckland will hold a Bathurst 1000 screening party on the day of this year’s Great Race.
The Bathurst Boot Party will be the first event of its kind for the series, giving fans the chance to follow the Kiwi drivers in the big race.
The festival-style event will not only show the race but will also include live entertainment, motorsport activations and demos, special guests, competitions, classic car displays including actual classic Supercars, and an exclusive after-party.
The event’s announcement comes in the wake of the now cancelled Pukekohe round of the championship, which would have been on the weekend the iconic 1000-kilometre race will now take place.
This will be the first Supercars-backed event in New Zealand since 2019 as the 2020 round was also cancelled.
A variety of ticket options will be available for the event, including indoor and outdoor options with presales starting at sale at 2.00 pm today on Ticketek.
Fans will have a range of ticket options ranging from sitting on the main field to watch the race for $25 through to the VIP packages at $200.
There will also be a number of areas to suit everyone with family-friendly, kids amusement and chill out areas open.
“This is a brilliant way for fans to take in the atmosphere of our great race, from within one of Auckland’s premier venues,” Supercars CEO Sean Seamer said.
“The concept is a great way for fans of all kinds to come out and enjoy everything the Repco Bathurst 1000 has to offer.
“We will have live crosses from the venue broadcast around the world as millions of fans tune in to watch this year’s great race.
“We thank our partners in Auckland for putting together this event and hope to see thousands of fans at Mt Smart Stadium on 7 November.”
