Austin Cindric has confirmed his spot on the grid for Wednesday’s night sixth round of the BP Supercars All Star Eseries.
Son of Team Penske President Tim, Cindric currently competes for his father’s team in the NASCAR Xfinity series, already claiming two podiums in the first four rounds of the 2020 championship.
The 21-year-old made the announcement via Ford Australia’s official Twitter account.
“[It is a] Really cool opportunity for me because I’ve always been a big fan of the series itself,” Cindric said.
“The cars, the tracks, the drivers, the whole format, I’ve really enjoyed.
“I’ve got a lot of respect for the guys that do it week in, week out, so looking forward to going back and forth to them, mixing it up on the track.
“I know I’m going to have my work cut out for me so hopefully Scotty [McLaughlin] and Fabs ]Fabian Coulthard] can help get me on the pace.”
The sixth round of the virtual series sees the field head back to America for a triple header around the Circuit of the Americas which gets underway from 8 pm NZT May 13.
