Marcus Armstrong has won the F2 Sprint Race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria after starting from pole. The kiwi led from start to finish for his second win of the season.
Armstrong started well from pole and quickly built a lead over Theo Pourchaire and Jack Doohan, escaping DRS range from the following drivers once it was enabled. The Frenchman and the Australian finished second and third respectively.
Assisting Armstrong was the clean driving of the field, with no safety car interventions meaning he was never in range of the following drivers.
There was disappointment for Liam Lawson, who failed to get his car off the line, forcing him to start from the pits. He eventually retired from the race.
Armstrong will start tonights feature race from 10th, with Lawson in 14th.
