Mitch Evans managed to qualify 7th in his jaguar racing machine with Nick Cassidy following in 14th.
The final round of the Formula E championship in Berlin will be an exciting end to the season with 18 drivers in contention for the title.
51 points separate the 18 drivers hoping to score maximum points in both races, with the top 10 drivers only split by 23 points (less than one 1st place finish).
There will be 2 races this weekend, rounds 14 and 15, with 25 points on offer for the win plus a point for pole position. Equating to a possible 52 points if you can manage to qualify 1st and finish 1st in both features.
At this stage in the season the Kiwi boys Evans and Cassidy are also in the pool of possible championship winners.
Nick Cassidy is in 6th place with 76 points and just one point behind in 7th sits fellow New Zealander Mitch Evans.
This qualifying session will be slightly disappointing for both Kiwis as it is important to start high on the grid in formula E due to the wide, difficult to overtake, nature of the race cars. Additionally, the street circuits don’t help to negate the gurth issue.
All to play for ahead of race 1 and the entire weekend. A high finish will definitely be crucial for both drivers in both races. Let us see what they can do from 7th and 14th!
