Williams reserve driver Jack Aitken is the most recent addition for the VHT Australian S5000 Championship season opener from Albert Park next week.
Aitken’s one-off drive comes courteous of former Williams team manager Peter Windsor having met category manager Chris Lambden.
Aitken will join former F1 drivers Rubens Barrichello and Giancarlo Fisichella on the grid for the Australian Grand Prix. Aitken finished fifth with Campos Racing in last year’s FIA Formula 2 championship, banking off an impressive Formula 3 season the year before.
“I love all forms of cars and racing so I’m really looking forward to experiencing S5000 with its V8 power on such a fantastic track in Australia,” said Aitken.
“There’s a great selection of drivers on the grid, including some F1 legends, so I’m sure it’s going to be a really memorable occasion.
“Many thanks to Team BRM and everyone who made it possible.”
The S5000 season gets underway at Albert Park from March 12.
