A true insight into rising Kiwi star Liam Sceats and his current endeavours. Thanks to Liam for the personal update.
It’s been an eventful month since my Indy NXT debut in Florida. While I’ve taken some time away from the track, I’ve stayed fully immersed in the motorsport community and continue making strides toward returning to the USA for the next steps in my journey.
I first enjoyed attending the Next Gen Championship final round at Hampton Downs a few weeks ago. Josie, Tony, and the entire Next Gen team did a fantastic job running the premier NZ Motorsport summer series this year.

While I had been involved earlier this year as a driver coach for an American driver, I was there to support those who have supported me this time. It’s always great to catch up with all the familiar faces who have been key to my journey. I also had a great chat with Stephen McIvor, giving insights into my journey’s latest developments, which you can enjoy on my social media.
I really enjoyed listening to Rusty’s Garage podcast this past week between two people who have been very helpful in my journey, Greg Rust and Steve Horne. It was cool to hear Steve’s journey from start to finish through his own eyes. Steve has been instrumental in my journey over recent years. Listening to his story further opened my eyes to how lucky I am to have his guidance.

The highlight of the past month was the function that Bayleys Real Estate generously put on for me. I had the chance to share my story and launch my campaign to get people to join my mission to go from New Zealand Champion to INDYCAR Champion with over 50 business leaders and motorsport enthusiasts.
It was an incredible opportunity to make new connections and strengthen existing ones. I’m extremely grateful to Bayleys for their continued support and to my performance coach, Shane Mc Conigly from Home | CreateLeap, for helping me make the event come to life. Thank you to everyone who attended and made the event special.

Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to attend today’s Indy NXT test at the Nashville Oval. My focus right now is securing the support needed to be on track for the Mid-Ohio test in just a couple of weeks, followed by Round 2 at Barber and the Indianapolis double-header in early May. While at home, I’m working on my physical, mental, and simulator training to ensure I’m ready to fight at the front of the field.
Thank you again for your continued support and belief in me. I’m excited about what lies ahead and look forward to sharing more updates soon. With your support, I’m more motivated than ever to achieve my end goal, as I currently stand on the final step of the ladder in Indy NXT. It’s now a plan and no longer a dream to follow in the footsteps of Scott Dixon and reach INDYCAR!
Stay tuned for what’s next!
