The Napa Central Muscle Cars have been confirmed as a support category for April’s ITM Taupo Super440 at Taupo International Motorsport Park.
The class was a popular addition to Supercars’ first-ever appearance in Taupo last year, where over two dozen muscle cars, ranging from Ford Mustangs and Chevrolet Camaros to Dodge Challengers and Chrysler Valiants, took centre stage.
In 2025, they’ll conclude their season at the event, joining confirmed categories of TCR Australia and the Bridgestone GR86 Championship.
“We are excited to be back at Taupo and looking forward to putting on a show for all the fans trackside and watching on TV,” the series posted on social media. “The round will also be the final round for the season where both the Group 1 & Group 2 championships will be decided.”
“Come see the boys in action, get up close to the cars and meet the drivers while you are there.”
The 2024 ITM Taupo Super 440 takes place over the weekend of April 11-13 and will consist of three Supercars races, two 120km outings on Saturday, before a 200km finale on Sunday.
In 2024, a soldout crowd of over 67,000 people attended the first-ever Supercars event at Taupo International Motorsport Park, braving wet conditions on Saturday to see support Andre Heimgartner to a popular home win on Saturday before Will Brown took Sunday’s spoils over teammate Broc Feeney in Sunday’s outing.
Support categories in 2024 included the Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, the Toyota 86 Championship, Napa Central Muscle Cars, and the New Zealand Formula Ford Championship.
Velocity News understands Formula Fords will not feature at the event in 2025, instead replaced by another New Zealand series.
