Invercargill’s Alex Crosbie tackles Round 3 of the F4 US Championship at New Jersey Motorsports Park in Millville, New Jersey, this weekend.
Crosbie returns to the United States fresh from his first podium in the series at Mid-Ohio in June.
The goal for this round is to get on the pace a little quicker, as Crosbie has been fast in the races during the opening two rounds, but unfamiliarity with the circuits has meant it has taken a little time to learn the layouts and get up to speed.
“I was happy with the podium at the last round, but I am still looking to get on the pace a bit earlier in the weekend,” he said last week before heading to America.
“I have been watching videos of the circuit, and my initial thoughts are that it is quite fast and flowing with not too many heavy braking zones, which will be good in the F4 chassis.”
Crosbie’s other goal this weekend is to have three good races. Neither of his previous weekends in the championship has gone completely smoothly.
“I want to have a weekend with no issues and just be consistent throughout.”
The series will use the circuit’s Thunderbolt Course, a 2.25-mile, 12-turn road course.
F4 US Championship competitors will participate in two twenty-minute practice sessions on Friday (local time) before a twenty-minute qualifying session and the first race of the round on Saturday. Sunday will see two further races, with all three races over the weekend fought out over a thirty-minute duration.
This event marks the midpoint of the five-round championship.
