Kiwi Supercars duo Scott McLaughlin and Shane van Gisbergen are among the latest list of recently confirmed stars for Thursday’s ARG eSport Cup Bathurst endurance finale.
The two-hour enduro around the hallowed Mount Panorama circuit will ultimately crown an inaugural series champion, with Christchurch-based Toyota 86 star Jaden Ransley in firm contention to steal the title.
An iRacing aficionado, McLaughlin will partner Australia Racing Group’s own co-ordinator Ben McMellan.
Meanwhile, Van Gisbergen, who currently leads the Supercars Eseries over his kiwi compatriot, will team up with his Red Bull Racing co-driver Garth Tander.
The duo executed a strong 2019 Pirtek Enduro Cup campaign, snaring podiums at Bathurst and Surfers Paradise, including claiming a win on Sunday’s 300km race on the Gold Coast.
Both McLaughlin and van Gisbergen make it four full-time kiwi Supercar drivers on the grid, with Andre Heimgartner and Fabian Coulthard confirming their services earlier in the week.
Points leader and V8 Touring Car driver Harley Haber heads into the season finale with one hand firmly grasped on the crown. But with double points on offer for the enduro there is everything to play for.
The event is scheduled to kick off from 10 pm NZT and will be live streamed via the official TCR YouTube channel and on Velocity News.
