New Zealand’s Ryan Wood will start off the second row in this evening’s Dunlop Series opener at Bathurst, having qualified fourth in this morning’s session.
Anderson Motorsport’s Zak Best set a Super2 lap record of 2:05.2863 to claim the pole, pipping closest championship rival Kai Allen by 0.1822 seconds to claim the top spot.
Aaron Love will start the race from third, falling just 0.0178 seconds short of a front-row start, while Wood was a further 0.0292 seconds behind in fourth, 0.0470 seconds off second.
The grid sees the top three in the championship, Best, Allen and Wood, starting at the front of the field, while fourth-placed Cooper could only manage seventh fastest.
The Super3 field has been reduced to five following a massive Thursday crash for Ryan Gilroy, who has been ruled out with a concussion.
Cameron McLeod claimed his eighth Super3 pole of the season and will start from eleventh overall.
Racing begins at 5.15 pm this evening, with a further qualifying session and race tomorrow.
