Grove Racing has this evening issued a release confirming Richie Stanaway as a full-time driver for the 2024 Supercars campaign. Stanaway joins Matt Payne in an all-Kiwi lineup for the team, with David Reynolds and the outfit parting ways at the end of this season.
“I would like to thank Penrite Racing for the incredible opportunity to be a part of the team next year,” said Stanaway.
“I’ve been impressed by the direction the team has been heading in recent years and have been enjoying my time in the Gen3 era thus far, so I am excited to see what we can achieve together.”
“As we continue to build the race team, securing a driver of Richie’s calibre is extremely exciting, giving the team the opportunity to challenge for race wins and championships,” he said.
“Richie’s experience and feedback will be great for the team to further develop moving forward.”
Stanaway and Payne join compatriot Andre Heimgartner as Kiwis in the field, while Ryan Wood has been linked with a drive to Walkinshaw Andretti United, who today confirmed Nick Percat’s departure.
Stanaway will get his first taste of Gen3 racing at next month’s Sandown 500, where he partners Shane van Gisbergen for Triple Eight Race Engineering, as he will in October’s Bathurst 1000.
