New Zealanders Chris van der Drift and Reid Harker will take to Korea International Circuit this weekend for a double-header of Porsche Carrera Cup races.
Twenty-one drivers will line up on the grid on the Yeongam track, with Chinese driver Kailuo Luo leading the way, taking both races in the Malaysian season-opener.
Racing for Team Shanghai Yonda, Van der Drift sits second equal in the standings, having finished first and third in his first outing. The Kiwi has had fortune on the Korea International Circuit before in the Carrera Cup, winning both races the last time the series hit the track in 2015.
Harker wasn’t present at the opening round but is fresh off the season-opener of the GT World Challenge Asia, where he competes with Setiawan Santoso for Earl Bamber Motorsport Giga Racing.
Harker will take the wheel for the same team at this weekend’s event, piloting the #61 Porsche driven by Adrian D Silva at Sepang.
Qualifying for the weekend takes place at 2.25 pm on Saturday (NZ Time), with Race 1 following at 6.35 pm. Sunday brings one further race, at 2.00 pm.
